The Role of PCR Thermal Cycler

Thermal cycler is one of the most commonly used AMPLIFY segment devices in laboratories to pass DNA through polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Thermal cyclers can also be used in the laboratory to facilitate other temperature-sensitive reactions, including restriction enzyme digestion or rapid diagnosis, which can be used for various purposes such as cloning, genotyping and mutation of main research objects in the field of biotechnology.
Polymerase chain reaction or PCR is a common molecular biology experimental technology used to amplify target DNA sequences to millions of copies. Since PCR technology relies on repeated thermal cycles to perform target amplification, thermal cyclers, as instruments that can automate the process, may play a vital role in the success of the experiment.
Thermal cycler can set the temperature of at least one laboratory sample to a predetermined temperature in sequence of time, and maintain it at this temperature level for a predetermined duration. This temperature control process is cyclic, and it means that a predetermined temperature cycle is repeatedly executed, that is, a sequence of at least two temperature levels, typically three temperature levels. This method is commonly used to perform polymerase chain reaction (pcr).
Modern thermal cyclers are equipped with a heating lid that presses on the cover of the reaction tube, which prevents condensation of water from the reaction mixture inside the cover. Traditionally, a layer of mineral oil is used for this purpose. Some thermal cyclers are equipped with fully adjustable heating covers that can be used for non-standard or multiple types of PCR plastic products. Some thermal cyclers are equipped with multiple modules that can perform multiple different PCRs at the same time, and some models also have a gradient function to allow different temperatures to be used in different parts of the module. This is especially useful when testing annealing temperatures suitable for PCR primers. Thermal cycler has the characteristics of wide measurement range, high accuracy, good reproducibility, and no offset.
